Filter cartridge introduction

A. Filter element classification

1. According to the function of the filter element is divided into: filter element, coalescence filter element, separation filter element, adsorption filter element.

2. According to the filter medium is divided into: aviation oil filter element, industrial oil filter element, hydrocarbon filter element, water filter element, gas filter element.

 

B. The basic structure of filter element

Although there are more types of filter elements, the structure is mainly composed of end caps, skeletons, filter materials and seals. Special structures need to be added according to special structural requirements, for example: Bypass valve, handle, nylon tie, clamp, winding tape and other special requirements. The characteristics and functions of each structure are as follows.

  1. The end cover

Features:

a. Stamping parts and machined parts, the main materials are stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, nylon, etc.

b. There is a certain depth of the glue injection tank. (Subject to drawings)

c. The end cover of the radial sealing filter element needs o-type groove, and the end cover of the axial sealing filter element needs to be easy to install and seal the position of the pad.

d. The surface treatment is plastic spraying, galvanizing, chrome plating, anodizing, etc.

Function:

  1. Storage adhesive (TH-1 is also called epoxy resin adhesive)

b. Provide interfaces connecting to filters.

c. Improve the end load intensity of the filter element.

d. End cover, skeleton, filter material connection.

e. And seal connected to play a sealing role.

  1. Skeleton

According to its function, the skeleton is divided into two kinds, which support the skeleton and protect the skeleton. The main differences between the two structures are the different wall thickness, the size and number of densely covered holes. (Drawings required)

Support frame (inner frame) features:

a. According to the strength and pressure of the filter element, the customized skeleton wall is thicker.

b. Holes are uniformly distributed on the wall surface.

c. Made of metal materials (or special materials).

d. Metal materials are stainless steel or plastic spraying and galvanized.

Support frame (inner frame) function:

a. Protect the pressure difference produced by the filter material under the normal operation of the filter element.

b. Is the filter medium uniform through, resulting in small resistance.

c. Into the end of the load, to ensure the axial verticality and parallelism of the filter element.  

Protective skeleton (outer skeleton) features:

a. Thin skeleton wall (commonly used 0.3-0.5mm)

b. The aperture is larger.

c. Generally made of steel plate or aluminum plate. (Oil filter element is more used)

Protective skeleton (outer skeleton) function:

a. Protect the filter material from external knock and damage.

b. To prevent the filter material from bending deformation caused by pressure impact in the work.

c. Bear part of the end load.

 

  1. Filter material

Filter material is mainly composed of filter layer and support layer. Filter materials are mainly divided into: glass fiber paper (imported paper, domestic paper), plant fiber paper, stainless steel mesh, copper mesh, synthetic fiber felt, water absorption filter material. The support layer material is mainly: galvanized net, stainless steel net, plant fiber paper, copper net, etc.

Filter layer features:

a. Select different filtering materials according to different materials and accuracy requirements.

b. The most important filter function of the filter material.

c. The strength of single-layer filter material is generally not high, and the support layer and protective layer are needed when necessary.

d. There are two main modes of operation: folding and wrapping.

Filter layer function: to ensure that the system plays the required filtration role, to achieve its specified cleanliness.

Support layer features:

  1. The wire diameter of the metal mesh is thicker.
  2. Less mesh mesh per unit area.

c. High strength, protect the filter material.

Support layer function:

  1. Support the filter material, so that the filter material under pressure difference is not deformed, not damaged.
  2. Keep the shape of the filter material process, so that the filter material evenly and fully contact the working medium, so as to improve the filtering effect.

4. Seals

Seals are mainly divided into: gaskets, sealing rings, and special-shaped parts. The material is soft with compressibility and elasticity. It is divided into radial seal and axial seal, and the effect is to ensure the tightness of the connection between the filter element and the filter.

 

5. Bypass valve

The bypass valve is also known as the safety valve, which is composed of spool, valve body, spring, spring seat, hanging lug and retaining ring. When the pressure difference between the two sides of the valve reaches the specified value, the valve seat is automatically opened to bypass the working medium. Ensure the safety of the filter, ensure the safety of the whole system.

 

6. The handle

Handle is generally metal material, with a certain stiffness. It is easy for users to install and disassemble the filter element, and can also be used to press the filter core.

7. Nylon ribbon, clamp, winding belt (PVC material) these materials only need to be used for the system pressure pulsation is not big occasions, the role is to reduce the filter material may produce reverse deformation. Keep the folding distance of filter material even and the folding peak parallel.

 

8. The structure of coalesce filter element in addition to the end cover, skeleton, filter material in addition to a protective layer (tea bag paper), demulsification layer (glass fiber cotton felt), support layer (nylon net), coalesce layer (spray rubber cotton) discharge layer (cotton sleeve).
